What is Liposuction? (back to top)
Liposuction surgery is performed to remove unwanted localized deposits of fat cells from the body. The procedure is meant for body contouring. It is not treatment of obesity. A suction tube is inserted through a tiny incision placed in an inconspicuous location on the skin. With a high pressure vacuum, fat cells are extracted through this tube. The result is a resculpturing of bulging areas into more attractive contours.
What is the Tumescent Technique? (back to top)
Tumescent technique requires large liters of saline solution mixed with local anesthesia along with adrenaline to be injected into a patient's treatment area. When this calculated solution is injected into the treatment areas, the treatment area swells; allowing Dr. Moy to insert a very small cannula which is connected a liposuction machine. Dr. Moy will expertly move this liposuction cannula under the skin allowing the liposuction machine to remove the unwanted fatty tissues. This removal of excess fatty tissue allows Dr. Moy to re-shape or contour a patient's treatment areas.

How do I know how much fat does Tumescent Technique remove? (back to top)
Our office measures all patient's treatment areas prior undergoing the Tumescent Technique. Our staff measures the treatment area again post treatment to compare the two results. Our patients are generally very happy with the measured differences between the pre and post Tumescent Technique measurements.
Once the fatty tissues have been removed, are the results permanent? (back to top)
After the ages of 16-18 years, our body stops producing new fat cells. When we gain weight, it's due to the body's fat cell expanding in size not due to an increase in number of fatty cells. Tumescent Technique permanently removes fatty cells in the treated areas. If weight gain does occur after the Tumescent Technique, it is due to the expansion of the remaining fatty cells which were not removed during the procedure. Tumescent Technique should not be used as a permanent cellulite reduction solution.
What will my skin look like after Tumescent Technique? (back to top)
Our patient's enjoy their new body contour. Tumescent Technique does not eliminate previous skin conditions such as: skin dimples or stretch marks. By using small surgical instruments, any surgical scar from the cannula insertion is small and reduced over time. In addition, the skin will contract and allow for a wonderful new skin contour emerge after the Tumescent Technique treatment.
What will my recovery be like? (back to top)

After your out-patient procedure, we recommend that our patients wear snuggly or elastic surgical or spandex garments to support the treated areas. Our office recommends that our patients to relax and not engage in any strenuous physical activities immediately after surgery. Normal activity may be resumed after 2-3 days.
